Background

Anticipating the growth trend in emerging economies such as Brazil, China and India, Asia Shipping Transportes Internacionais was created in 1996 to provide services for the trade between the Far East and Latin America. The company began at offices in Santos, the biggest port in Latin America, and in São Paulo, one of the largest urban centers on the American continent.

In 1999, the company made an aggressive move forward onto the international scene and established Asia Shipping International Transport (HK), with offices in Hong Kong, and has been growing ever since.

As its business grows, Asia Shipping decided to diversify its services for the Brazilian market and create companies specializing in international trade: Wil-Haven Container Line, Bensa Company Brazil and Compass South America.
